Hampi

As you might already know from my previous post, my family and I went on a holiday to Hubli and Bijapur. You can view the previous post by clicking here . After coming back to Hubli, we left our grandparents at their house and then left for Hampi. Day 1 We departed from Hubli at 11:45 a.m. and reached Hampi at 3:30 p.m. After checking into a hotel we walked around Hampi. First we went to a temple. The architecture inside the temple was very nice. We left the temple and went to the river nearby. As the river is very dirty we decided not to step in to the river. Afterwards we went to a place which had a few rocks and ruins. We climbed a few steps and then stopped and headed back to our hotel as it was getting dark. Then we went to Hampi's famous restaurant for dinner - The Mango Tree. Day 2 We had breakfast at around 7:30 a.m. Then we hired a guide and an auto-rickshaw. The guide agreed to take us around Hampi. First we went to a temple called the Virupaksha Temple. Vir

My Trip To Hubli, Bijapur

On the 13th of October 2012 my family and I left on a holiday to Hubli , Bijapur and Hampi . We stopped in many places of interest along the way. Day 1 (Hubli) We left Bangalore at 4:00 am, and reached our grandparents' house in Hubli at 10:30 am. We had a few snacks and started talking. As my parents were talking, I went to the garden outside and took a few photographs. After a few hours we had lunch. At around 5:30 pm, we left to a place called Police Grounds. Over there I took a few photos and my sister and I played on a Banyan Tree . After that we came home and had dinner.  Day 2 (Hubli) I woke up at 5:30 am.  I went with my grandfather and bought milk . I then helped my father wash our car.   After that I had bath and then watched TV after which I played cricket with my father and my sister on the roadside. After that we went to the terrace and played something called box cricket. This is how you play the game: You have to first draw a small box measuring a

Photos That I Took With My Tripod

Here are few photos I took in my grandparents' house. I took these photos with a tripod. Click on a photo to view an enlarged image.

My Tripod

Recently my parents bought me a Vanguard   tripod . They bought it as I am very interested in photography. You may think that it is used only for taking videos, but it is also used for macro photography  (a close up view of a photo). I love taking macro photographs. You can see some of my photographs by clicking here . Pictures 1 to 7 are macro photos. Why is a tripod used for taking macro photographs? We can take macro photographs even without a tripod. As we capture the close up view of the photograph our hand may tend to shake and hence blur the photograph. When we use a tripod it is better as our hand will not shake and blur the picture. I will soon post pictures of of some macro photos that I took with my tripod. I will also attach the picture of my tripod.

ICC World T20 2012

As you all know the ICC World T20 is taking place in Sri Lanka. India got knocked out of this World Cup in the Super Eights (The best eight teams). As India lost to Australia in the Super Eights, they had to win against South Africa in the next game with a huge run rate to qualify. As they needed to defeat South Africa by 31 runs or more to qualify for the Semi Finals, they were eliminated from the competition. The game was a tense game as India just managed to win by 1 run. Four teams qualified for the semi finals (The best two teams from 2 different groups). As on 9:00 p.m (GMT 5:30) Sri Lanka qualified for the finals. The match between Australia and West Indies will decide who will be facing Sri Lanka. My second favourite team in the world is Sri Lanka. As India are knocked out of the tournament I am supporting them. I really really hope that Sri Lanka win the World Cup.
